Birding review 2025

Another year has passed, and the Universe has grown older and wider. Our galaxy is hurtling toward Andromeda, and there is little we can do to stop it. On planet Earth everything obeys the laws of evolution, so simple and so powerful that no mass extinction can wipe out its organic life until the star it orbits explodes. And that will happen around the time Milky Way collides with Andromeda, which means that our descendants (whatever they may look like), will have a chance to live in a new supergalaxy, Milkomeda.

2023 review

For three consecutive years, from 2019 to 2021, three different owls were on the covers of my annual reports. But 2022 has changed this not-very-long tradition: a Northern Gannet took their place. So why not establish a new not-very-long tradition, with different boobies on the cover, and with a good reason - in 2023 year I saw two species of them: Northern Gannet and Brown Booby (see the photo below):

The cover image for this, final part of the story, is almost the same as for the first chapter. Same background but I'm not in the photo. I find it symbolic in a way. You know, people come and go, but the palm trees are always green and the chairs are always red.

The fifth day of our trip was dedicated to whale-watching! We were all excited, as no one had ever seen these iconic, magical giants of the deep. We set off early in the morning and arrived at a lovely pier, where a group of other whale-watchers were already gathering.
